TORONTO BLUE JAYS

Toronto Blue Jays “Call-Up” Guide Woodworking for a “Third Season” of Stadium Renovations – And we knocked it out of the park!

Playing a major role in the complete makeover of the Toronto Blue Jays magnificent new lockers and home clubhouse facilities isn’t just an honour for us, it’s also a tribute to the craftsmanship behind our family name.

You’ll recall, Guide Woodworking was called upon for the very first round of luxury renovations for the Toronto Blue Jays in the storied Rogers Centre last year, receiving high praise from both the organization and fans who now enjoy the fine woodworking in ultra-popular “Flight Deck” and “Corona Rooftop Patio”. The plan was to turn the stadium into a ballpark.

Needless to say, we were pleased to get called back for our second season with the Blue Jays and PCL Constructors.

After months of planning and intense collaboration with the Jays, Architects and Constructors, we were able to see all the pieces fall together to create a perfect success for all involved. PCL constructors is Canada’s leading construction company and working closely with them and their team on this project made it very clear why. Amazing leadership, calculating, planning and most importantly team driven mentality on PCLs part is what made this a real homerun.  Working with PCL is truly a privilege.

We’re not exaggerating when we use the word “spectacular” to describe the woodworking, quality design, and the gorgeous finishes in the stunning new locker room for the home team. The end result is an elegant environment that looks and feels more like a private-members resort rather than a major league baseball clubhouse.

It’s actually a relatively new concept in professional baseball, elevating the look and feel of the locker room to help attract and retain the best athletes from around the world, who often prefer the warmer and perhaps more ‘sexy’ destinations for pro athletes like Miami and Los Angeles.  The concept behind these new renovations at the Rogers Centre is simple, and partially reflected in the famous line from the iconic baseball movie, Field of Dreams: ‘if you build it, they will come.”

Being the only Canadian city in the Big Leagues, Toronto now has a unique competitive advantage in attracting talent, offering luxurious surroundings for both the players, their families, and even the coaches, who also get their own, chic, designated areas.

At Guide Woodworking, we offer “craftsmanship at scale”, and it doesn’t get much bigger than the big leagues of professional baseball.   Here’s to bringing home that third World Series ring!
